ITI Refrigeration and Air Conditioning is a 2 year course , approved by the NCVT (National Council Vocational Training). ITI Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC) is a technical trade course that trains students in the installation, repair, servicing, and maintenance of cooling systems such as refrigerators, air conditioners, deep freezers, and cold storage units.
ITI Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Eligibility
If you are planning to take admission in the ITI Refrigeration and Air Conditioning trade, you must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:
✅ Educational Qualification
- Must have passed Class 10 (Matriculation) from a recognized board
- Mathematics and Science should be compulsory subjects in 10th standard
✅ Age Limit
- Minimum age: 14 years

Admission Process for ITI Refrigeration and Air Conditioning
Admission is usually done through:

In the ITI Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC) Trade, there are 5 main subjects covered during the course.
📘 Subjects in ITI RAC Trade
- Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Trade Theory
– Basics of refrigeration cycle, compressors, condensers, refrigerants, and air conditioning systems. - Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Trade Practical
– Hands-on training in installation, servicing, gas charging, leak testing, and maintenance of ACs and refrigerators. - Workshop Calculation & Science
– Mathematics and science concepts related to pressure, temperature, heat, and measurements. - Engineering Drawing
– Reading and drawing refrigeration and air conditioning diagrams. - Employability Skills
– Communication skills, basic computer knowledge, entrepreneurship, and workplace behavior.
Two types of exam are conducted every year for course in ITI in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning trade.
- Practical Exam: This is conducted at the training centre/College itself through practical exam and Viva test by an external Examiner.
- Computer Based Test (CBT): In this exam is conducted through computer .There will be one paper 2 hour duration computer based test, conduct by NCVT all subject details are given in the table.

The ITI Refrigeration and Air Conditioning course is a 2-year program divided into 2 semester. Students usually attend classes for 5–6 hours per day, 6 days a week.
